Greek director Konstantina Kotzamani made a name for herself at the Cannes and Berlin film festivals. Here, she presents her films, followed by a master class. Born in Komotini, in 1983, Konstantina studied pharmaceutics and cinema at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She participated at Berlin and Sarajevo Talent Campus as director. Her short films have been screened in countless international festivals and won many awards. Over the years, Konstantina Kotzamani has developed her own signature style, blurring the lines between surrealism and dream-states, leaving us in limbo to decipher and interpret. The vision in her work is unique and clear and, like a painter, the landscapes and settings are an integral part of the storytelling. Hosted by Serge Abiaad, this class will help us better understand the way she “dreams” up the world surrounding her.
A maturation trip, the childish nightmare of K. In a wooden house, she revives her childhood’s fears and desires and experiences her sexual awakening. A dreamy wandering constructed by the tale of three little pigs, a distorted view of her own family.

Washingtonia starts when the giraffes heart can no longer be heard. Washingtonia is an alternative name for Athens, a place where people, like animals, fall into summertime sadness because of the heat. Washingtonia is the only palm tree that its heart is not devoured by the red beetle. Because it’s heart is small and dry and no one likes small and dry hearts.
