The famous patriotic anthem of our neighbours to the south forms the inspiration for this novel take on a buddy movie that’s funny, tender and cynical. America! America! From sea to shining sea! For his second feature, Monihan places his camera between two friends who are poles apart on every front: the Atlantic Ocean, their opinions, even the colour of their skin. He then sets them loose in a hand-me-down rattletrap on a mission to discover everything wonderful, horrible, strange or surreal the U.S. has to offer. Offbeat and funny.
Brothers from other mothers, from different sides of the world, with different opinions on damn near everything, travel in a dusty old Subaru, coast to coast across the fantastic and fantastically flawed United States of America.
