BRAZIL | 80 minutes | 2017

In the form of a clever montage of a dozen feature films, this unusual documentary presents a new take on the pornochanchada genre. Por- nochanchadas, half comedy and half softcore porn, were low-budget sexploitation films, made exclusively in Brazil in the ’70s and ’80s, that bear witness to a painful past. Fernanda Pessoa provides a glimpse into these local productions whose nudity and lightheartedness belie their critical look at issues such as economic woes and the military dictatorship.
