A little girl experiences oppression in a war-torn country in this animated film produced by Angelina Jolie. Following the wrongful arrest of her father, a determined little girl in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan disguises herself as a boy to support her family. In this third feature from Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon, director Nora Twomey adapts the acclaimed eponymous novel by Canadian Deborah Ellis with simplicity and naturalism.
