Spotlight on homegrown cinema
CANADA | 70 minutes | 2016
Intuitive camera work depicting jam-packed urban life and philosophical comments make up the latest offering from this icon of Canadian avant-garde cinema. A fiercely independent artist and video maker, Hoolboom continues his exploration of human behaviour in reaction to the immediate environment. A series of still shots of urban Toronto life combined with brief remarks by the artist make up the new outing by one of the most eclectic Canadian filmmakers out there. A richly interpreted visual exploration that questions our intimate relationship with modernity.IN PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTOR
