Moving portrait of a stubborn Congolese woman who, faced with setbacks, refuses to stay in the shadows. “On the count of ten, Félicité, you will be reborn!” A cabaret singer moves heaven and earth to raise the funds necessary to save her teenage son from amputation. Soothed by Congolese music and songs, this frantic quest by a determined mother won the Silver Bear at the latest Berlin Festival. A poignant drama about resilience propelled by a feeling of urgency as the essence of our lives keeps slipping through our fingers.IN THE PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTOR
