UNITED STATES | 107 minutes | 1981
Vintage cult film about a politician, a ruthless killer and a woman’s bloodcurdling scream in the night. De Palma’s 1981 classic is a dark tale that hinges around an accidental recording made by a sound man in the wrong place at the wrong time. An audio twist on Antonioni’s Blow Up starring John Travolta at the top of his game, the darkly-lit thriller threw audiences for a loop. But it’s since become a favourite entry in De Palma’s contorted filmography.
