Experimentation. Transcendence. Rapture.
TUNISIA , Qatar , United Arab Emirates , Lebanon | 95 minutes | 2016
A solitary journey becomes a rite of passage when a man beset by doubts is haunted by supernatural forces. A clandestine crossing of the Mediterranean that ends in failure forms the tragic odyssey of a taciturn traveller. This debut feature from Tunisian lmmaker Ala Eddine Slim evokes the pictorial beauty of films by Carlos Reygadas (Post Tenebras Lux) and the existential angst of the characters in works by Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Once Upon a Time in Anatolia). An unsettling work open to multiple interpretations.IN COMPETITION
