Melissa has directed three feature films: Wildflowers (Daryl Hannah, Clea DuVall, Eric Roberts), Admissions (Lauren Ambrose, Christopher Lloyd, Amy Madigan) and Steal Me (Hunter Parrish, Paz de la Huerta). Her films have premiered at Sundance, SXSW, The New York Film Festival, Cannes, Seattle, Woodstock, Mill Valley, Galway, Edinburgh, and Bilbao.

Melissa’s work has garnered awards including Best Narrative Feature at South by Southwest. She has been selected as a Fellow of both the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and Sundance Directors Lab. Her NYU thesis film Jump won both the Princess Grace Award and a Warner Brothers Fellowship.

She is co-author of Edie: Girl on Fire about Warhol Superstar Edie Sedgwick published by Chronicle Books. Melissa holds a BA in Ancient Greek from Columbia University where she graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa, and an MFA in film from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at NYU, she was the associate producer of Lodge Kerrigan’s first feature Clean, Shaven, which attended Telluride, Sundance and Cannes, and was the second unit cinematographer and associate producer on Maria’s Maggenti’s first feature, The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, which was released by Fine Line and Miramax.
