Niels Schneider, Agathe Bonitzer, Mathieu Amalric, Serge Bozon... Director Arrietta transposes Perrault’s classic tale to a bewitching, contemporary fairyland where the characters play drums and travel by helicopter. Compelling, timeless and poetic, this retelling of Perrault’s Sleeping Beauty situates the action in a lush jungle where danger constantly lurks. An enchanting tale about a kingdom frozen in time, Belle dormant brings together a star-studded cast in a daring mise-en-scène.IN COMPETITIONNORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE
